Sanford, North Carolina
Hello! My name is Cecil Borntrager. My last name is supposed to mean “water bearer”, not “clockmaker”. That’s OK since there isn’t much need for a water bearer these days.
Like so many in the area, I am retired military, having served our country for 20 years. After I retired from the Air Force, I decided to work for the City of Sanford. While working for the city, I picked up some pieces of wood with very interesting marks and grains in them. It was then that I got the idea of turning these beautiful pieces of wood into clocks.
In 2012, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Since being diagnosed, my clocks have proven to be quite therapeutic and enjoyable for me. I hope and pray that whoever buys my clocks will enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed making them. Thank you, and may God bless each and every one of you.
