Dayn Muzzy was raised in Midland, Michigan. He worked for Dow Corning until his retirement in 2017, when he moved with his wife and two children to West End, NC. While at Dow Corning, one of his responsibilities was to purchase art for display in the corporation’s executive buildings. He always loved to draw and paint and did so through high school and college. He studied art under some impressive mentors and held scholarships for art and design from the Center for Creative Studios in Detroit, MI, as well as Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI. One of his works, “Sovereign of the North, won first place in the congressional art competition and was displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year. In 2010, partly as a result of the pandemic, Dayn started to paint again. He mainly works with acrylic on canvas or crescent board and relies on nature as his inspiration.
